Itinerary Day 1: Arrive in South Africa On arrival at OR Tambo International airport, a registered guide from Explore Africa Tours and Safaris will meet you at the arrival terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax after a long flight. Dinner / bed / breakfast inclusive of cost. The dinner occasion will be discussed with you once collected from the airport. Day 2: Kruger National Park (+/-420km) This morning, after an early breakfast at your Johannesburg hotel, you will be transferred to the Campervan Motorhome depot where you will collect your selfdrive Campervan Motorhome, sign the necessary documents, pick up your Campervan Motorhome, and depart to the Kruger National Park. After a +- 5 hour drive you arrive at one of the gates entering Kruger Park. The excitement of game viewing starts here. You are in “Big Five“ (African Elephant, African Buffalo, White and Black Rhinoceros, Lion and Leopard) country. You will have a booked campsite at two different camps inside the park. You will be supplied with a “Find It” book, which is an excellent guide to game-spotting of mammals and birdlife. Buffet / a la carte /self service restaurants and food shops available in all camps. Day 3: Kruger National Park (+/-100km) An early wake up call and set off in your own Campervan Motorhome vehicle searching for the lion pride that spent the night sleeping on the dry road, the elephant herd wandering around a waterhole and many more nowhere else to be seen than in Africa. Breakfast will be served at one of the picnic spots on route. In the late afternoon there will be an optional sunset open safari vehicle game drive of +- 3 hours with a game ranger to spot nocturnal animals that might not be seen during daytime. A barbeque can be arranged and ready when you return from the sunset game drive. Day 4: Panorama Route – Blyde River Canyon - Sabie (+/-220km) After a filling breakfast we start our journey out of the Kruger Park towards the famous Panorama Route in your Camper Mobile Park-Home, the most beautiful nature environments in the eastern lowveld of Mpumalanga Province. Traveling to the escarpment of Drakensberg mountain towards Panorama we visit Blyderiver Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, surrounding waterfalls, and Gods Window overlooking the green lowveld of Mpumalanga (one of the most visited areas in the world). If time allows we stop at the next town, Graskop, for a browse through one of the interesting local shops. Depart to Sabie, a forestry town and tourist attraction where we will overnight at a very famous camping and caravan site in this evergreen little town. This town has a few interesting little restaurants to satisfy your taste of food. Day 5: Sabie - Mkuze (+/-480km Have a late breakfast and continue with your Camper Mobile Park-Home towards Kwazulu Natal region to the town of Mkuze where we will overnight. Optional, indulge in a skin or body treatment in the Ghost Mountain Inn hotel. The hotel also offers an indoor gym and steam room which can be just the answer for an exhausted body after a long drive. Steakhouse and hotel restaurant available for dinner. Day 6: Mkuze - St Lucia (+/-130km) After breakfast depart to St Lucia Wetland Park, today a World Heritage Site and a complex of lake, swamp, forest, grassland, high dune and marine wilderness. A visit to the Crocodile sanctuary can be done for your own cost or just plain walking around in the small town with all its interesting shops. Later the afternoon a visit will be arranged to Dumazulu Village, a 30 minute drive, to see how the Zulus dance, their culture and their African souvenirs they make. Enjoy a traditional dinner at the village. This is included in the tour cost. Accommodation in St Lucia caravan park. Day 7: St Lucia (Local) Boat trip on St Lucia Lake included in tour cost will be taken during the course of the morning. Rest of day at your own leisure. Deep-sea fishing and whale watching trips is also available at an optional cost. Day 8: St Lucia – Underberg (Southern Drakensberg) (+/- 460km) One of the most beautiful, longest (350 km) and highest (3,000 m) mountain ranges in Southern Africa. It is the source of many great rivers making it South Africa’s most important conservation areas with an abundant wildlife, yellowwood forests and mountain streams. Overnight Drakensberg Gardens Golf caravan park. Day 9: Underberg (Local) From the beautiful little town of Underberg, 4x4 vehicle safari trips will be undertaken over the Sani Pass to Sani Top in the Lesotho Highlands. Included in cost. (Passport required for crossing Lesotho border). Overnight Drakensberg Gardens Golf Caravan Park. Day 10: Underberg – Golden Gate Highlands National Park (+- 450 km) Have a breakfast at one of the local restaurants and set off along the eastern slopes of the majestic Drakensberg mountain range towards this beautiful park of sandstone highlands which displays a variety of rock shapes and color unsurpassed for its beauty. This park has its beauty in all four seasons which must not be missed and entered without a camera. Camping will be in the scenic camping site at Glen Reenen camp. Shops are available in the park that sell basic necessities. Brandwag camp has a restaurant, coffee shop and Laundromat. Day 11: Golden Gate Highlands National Park (Local) Spend this day hiking, horse-riding (optional), visit the antelope camp or just relax staring at the beauty of the golden mushroom rock formations. Day 12: Golden Gate Highlands National Park – Clarens (20 Km) After a late breakfast take a lazy drive towards the little town of Clarens named after the village where South Africa’s first president, Paul Kruger spent his last days in voluntary exile. Visit the Basotho blanket store on the outskirts of the town and learn all about this interesting Basotho culture. Camping will be in the scenic camping site at Glen Reenen camp Golden Gate Highlands Park. Day 13: Golden Gate Highlands Park – Johannesburg (+-250 Km) This morning we leave Golden Gate Highlands Park. We arrive in Johannesburg later the afternoon, deliver the Camper Mobile Park-Home vehicles, and transfer to the selected hotel for your overnight stay. B/B. This evening a farewell dinner will be at a local restaurant in the town of Boksburg. Transport will be arranged by Explore Africa Tours and Safaris. Day 14 Johannesburg – Airport Transfer (10 Min From Airport) Transfers to airport will be arranged by us. Notes Tour covers +- 2,800 km. Toll fees +- R350-00 per vehicle. Cost based on minimum of 2 persons per camper mobile park home on tour. The tour is restricted to 3 (three) Mobile Park-Homes Campers, of any combination (2 & 5 berth), per tour. Tour Cost Includes:-
A non-refundable deposit of R 2 142.00 per person is required, together with a completed Booking Form, before a booking will be accepted. Deposits may be paid by EFT transfer but the balance of the arrangements must be paid by direct bank transfer 10 days prior to arrival.
